units

The bill shows the FPA month, e.g. "FPA for JUL-26". Enter your units for that month from the 12-month history. Leave blank to use this month's units.

Quarterly adjustment billed September to November 2026. It can be negative, e.g. -0.45. Use the figure on your bill if it differs.

Ticked because many recent bills still show it. Untick it if your bill has no electricity duty line.

Non-filers pay 7.5% income tax when the bill is Rs 25,000 or more.

Your bill's cost of electricity can differ by a few paisa because it is adjusted for the number of days in the reading period. The first bill of a new connection can cover more than one month.

Add the units and load from your SEPCO bill. With the current adjustments, a summer bill of 500 units for an unprotected 2 kW home comes to about Rs 29,439 for a non-filer. A filer on the Active Taxpayers List pays about Rs 27,385.

SEPCO is the Sukkur Electric Power Company. It serves Sukkur, Larkana and upper Sindh. It charges the same national uniform tariff as every other company.

Worked example: 500 units, unprotected, 2 kW

At 500 units you are at the top of the 401 to 500 slab. All units are charged Rs 38.95 and the fixed charge is Rs 500 per kW.

Line Working Amount
Cost of electricity 500 × 38.95 Rs 19,475.00
Fixed charges 2.0 kW × Rs 500 Rs 1,000.00
FC surcharge 500 × 3.23 Rs 1,615.00
Quarterly adjustment 500 × 0.5194 Rs 259.70
Fuel adjustment 500 × 1.1086 Rs 554.30
Electricity charges Rs 22,904.00
Electricity duty 1.5% of cost of electricity and QTA Rs 296.02
GST 18% of the charges above and duty, rounded Rs 4,076.00
Duty on fuel adjustment 1.5% of the fuel adjustment Rs 8.31
GST on fuel adjustment 18% of the fuel adjustment and its duty, rounded Rs 101.00
Income tax (non-filer) 7.5% of the bill Rs 2,053.90
Government charges Rs 6,535.23
Total Rs 29,439.23

The bill before income tax is Rs 27,385.33. Because that is above Rs 25,000, a non-filer adds 7.5%.

The 500 unit line in summer

In the hottest months some homes pass 500 units. Crossing that line costs more than one unit is worth:

  • at 501 units, every unit moves from Rs 38.95 to Rs 40.22
  • fixed charges go from Rs 500 to Rs 675 per kW
  • the non-filer total goes from Rs 29,439.23 to Rs 30,758.51

Above 700 units the rate becomes Rs 47.20 on every unit. The electricity bill calculator shows bills at 600 and 700 units.

SEPCO unit price, duty and taxes

The per unit rates are the same as on the unit price page. On top come the fuel adjustment of Rs 1.1086 and quarterly adjustment of Rs 0.5194 per unit, the Rs 3.23 FC surcharge and 18% GST.

Electricity duty in Sindh has been 1.5% on homes. The federal government said in July 2025 it would stop collecting duty through bills. If your bill has no duty line, untick the box. At 500 units the bill without duty is about Rs 29,054.03.

Reading your SEPCO bill

The two figures you need are the month's units consumed and the sanctioned load in kW. If you see an income tax line, that is the 7.5% non-filer charge. It disappears once the name on the connection is on FBR's Active Taxpayers List.

SEPCO's area meets HESCO, QESCO and MEPCO, all on the same national tariff: the HESCO bill calculator, the QESCO bill calculator and the MEPCO bill calculator.

SEPCO bill by units

A long billing period, arrears, instalments or a late payment surcharge will make your SEPCO bill differ from this estimate. qaaf is not linked to SEPCO or NEPRA. The amount printed on the bill is what you pay.

Questions people ask

What is the SEPCO unit price?

SEPCO charges homes the national rates NEPRA fixed in February 2026. For unprotected users these range from Rs 22.44 (up to 100 units) to Rs 47.20 (above 700 units). At 500 units every unit is Rs 38.95 before adjustments and taxes.

How much is a 500 unit SEPCO bill?

About Rs 29,439 for a non-filer and Rs 27,385 for a filer, for an unprotected 2 kW home with the current adjustments with duty. See the 500 units bill page for more.

Why did my SEPCO bill jump in June?

Higher summer use often moves a home into a higher slab, where every unit costs more and the fixed charge per kW rises. A bill over Rs 25,000 also adds 7.5% income tax for non-filers. The fuel adjustment can also change from month to month.

Is SEPCO cheaper than HESCO?

No. Both charge the same national tariff, with the same fuel and quarterly adjustments. The HESCO bill calculator gives the same answer for the same units and load.
