qaaf

Privacy policy

What qaaf collects, what it does not, what happens to the figures you type, and the choices you have.

This policy explains what happens to your information when you use qaaf.com.pk. We have tried to keep it short and plain.

No accounts

You do not need an account to use qaaf. We do not ask for your name, CNIC, phone number or address.

What you type into a calculator

Calculator inputs, such as your salary, units, marks or gold weight, are worked out in your browser. The calculation itself does not send them to us, and we keep no database of what people enter.

There is one thing to know. As you change a calculator, your entries are written into the page address, the part after the "?" in the address bar. That is what lets you copy or share a link that opens with the same figures. The IBAN calculators are the exception: account numbers are never written into the page address. If you reload the page, bookmark it or open a shared link, that full address is requested from our host like any other web address, so it can appear in the host's logs described below. If you would rather not have a figure in an address, clear the field before you reload or share, or open the calculator again from its plain link.

Saved GPA course lists

The GPA and CGPA calculators keep your course list in your own browser's storage (local storage), so it is still there when you come back. It stays on your device and is not sent to us. To remove it, press Clear saved under the calculator, or clear this site's data in your browser settings.

Server logs

Our site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare records basic technical details when a page is requested, such as your IP address, browser type, the page address requested and the time. These logs are used for security, such as blocking attacks and abuse, and for keeping the site running. We do not use them to identify individual visitors.

Advertising

qaaf does not show advertising at present, and no advertising code runs on the site. We may add advertising later, for example through Google AdSense. If we do, we will update this policy first: it will name the provider, explain the cookies it uses and the choices you have, and describe the consent message shown to visitors from the UK, the European Economic Area and Switzerland. The date at the top of this page will change when that happens.

Cookies set by the site itself

qaaf itself sets no tracking cookies. If we add an analytics service, we will name it here before it is switched on. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the calculators keep working without them.

Embedded calculators

Some calculators offer an Embed this calculator code that other websites can paste into their pages. The calculator then appears inside a frame (an iframe) on that site. It works the same way as on qaaf: the maths runs in the visitor's browser and the frame sets no cookies. Loading the frame requests the page from our host, so the request appears in the host's logs like any other visit. The site showing the frame has its own privacy policy, which covers everything else on its page.

Children

qaaf is a general information site and is not aimed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Contacting us

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to reply and to fix any error you report. We do not add you to a mailing list. Our address is hello@qaaf.com.pk, or use the contact page.

Changes to this policy

We will update this policy before we add advertising or an analytics service, and whenever the way the site handles information changes. When we do, we will change the date on this page.
