Income tax at 500 units

Before income tax the bill is Rs 27,385.33. Section 235 of the Income Tax Ordinance charges 7.5% on domestic bills of Rs 25,000 or more for people not on the Active Taxpayers List. It applies to the whole bill, including GST, so the tax is Rs 2,053.90.

Filers on the ATL do not pay it. The connection must be in the filer's name for the exemption to show on the bill. Check the income tax line on your bill, which shows the amount actually charged.

What unit 501 costs

At 501 units every unit moves to Rs 40.22 and the fixed charge jumps from Rs 500 to Rs 675 per kW.

500 units Rs 29,439.23 Rs 27,385.33
501 units Rs 30,758.51 Rs 28,612.57

On a 3 kW load, 500 units would be about Rs 30,073.48 for a non-filer. The electricity bill calculator shows the bill at 600 and 700 units.

Both totals assume a 2 kW load, duty at 1.5%, no meter rent, the August 2026 fuel adjustment, billed in October 2026 and the quarterly adjustment on September, October and November 2026 bills. Treat them as estimates. Arrears, any late payment surcharge and whether your connection is on the Active Taxpayers List decide the amount actually printed on your bill.
