units

The bill shows the FPA month, e.g. "FPA for JUL-26". Enter your units for that month from the 12-month history. Leave blank to use this month's units.

Quarterly adjustment billed September to November 2026. It can be negative, e.g. -0.45. Use the figure on your bill if it differs.

Ticked because many recent bills still show it. Untick it if your bill has no electricity duty line.

Non-filers pay 7.5% income tax when the bill is Rs 25,000 or more.

Your bill's cost of electricity can differ by a few paisa because it is adjusted for the number of days in the reading period. The first bill of a new connection can cover more than one month.

Key in your IESCO units and sanctioned load. With the current adjustments, 200 units cost an unprotected 2 kW home about Rs 8,786, while a protected home pays about Rs 4,021 for the same units.

IESCO is the Islamabad Electric Supply Company. It serves Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum and Chakwal. Its area spans the federal capital and parts of Punjab, which matters for electricity duty.

IESCO unit price

IESCO uses the national uniform tariff. Protected homes pay Rs 10.54 and Rs 13.01 per unit. Unprotected homes pay Rs 22.44 up to 100 units, Rs 28.91 from 101 to 200, Rs 33.10 from 201 to 300, and more above that.

Unprotected homes pay one rate on all units. So an IESCO home at 200 units pays Rs 28.91 on every unit, and at 201 units pays Rs 33.10 on every unit. See all slabs on the unit price page.

Worked example: 200 units, unprotected, 2 kW

Line Working Amount
Cost of electricity 200 × 28.91 Rs 5,782.00
Fixed charges 2.0 kW × Rs 300 Rs 600.00
FC surcharge 200 × 3.23 Rs 646.00
Quarterly adjustment 200 × 0.5194 Rs 103.88
Fuel adjustment 200 × 1.1086 Rs 221.72
Electricity charges Rs 7,353.60
Electricity duty 1.5% of cost of electricity and QTA Rs 88.29
GST 18% of the charges above and duty, rounded Rs 1,300.00
Duty on fuel adjustment 1.5% of the fuel adjustment Rs 3.33
GST on fuel adjustment 18% of the fuel adjustment and its duty, rounded Rs 41.00
Government charges Rs 1,432.62
Total Rs 8,786.22

Now compare the neighbours:

  • Protected at 200 units: Rs 4,020.81. The protected home pays less than half.
  • Unprotected at 201 units: Rs 9,952.26. One extra unit adds more than Rs 1,000, because all 201 units move to the Rs 33.10 slab and fixed charges rise from Rs 300 to Rs 350 per kW.

If your bill is close to 200, the last few units are the most expensive units you will use all month.

Electricity duty in Islamabad and Rawalpindi

Electricity duty is a provincial levy. Historically it was 1.5% on homes in both Islamabad and Punjab. In July 2025 the federal Power Division said it would stop collecting duty through bills, and Punjab later exempted homes by law.

Some IESCO bills still carry the duty, so go by your own bill. If there is no "electricity duty" line, untick the duty box in the calculator. At 200 units the bill without duty is Rs 8,677.60.

Reading your IESCO bill

Use the monthly units consumed, not the running meter reading. Your sanctioned load in kW is shown with the connection details. If the bill lists the FPA and QTA per unit, copy them into the adjustment boxes for a closer match.

If your bill covers more days than usual, the units will be higher and may push you into the next slab. That is a meter reading issue, not a tariff change.

If you are on the edge of IESCO's area, the GEPCO bill calculator and the PESCO bill calculator apply the same national rates.

This calculator is not run by IESCO or NEPRA. It leaves out arrears, late payment surcharge and instalments, and assumes a normal billing period, so the amount on your printed IESCO bill is the one that counts.

Questions people ask

What is the IESCO unit price?

IESCO homes pay the February 2026 NEPRA rates: Rs 10.54 and Rs 13.01 for protected users, and Rs 22.44 to Rs 47.20 for unprotected users. With the current adjustments and taxes, an unprotected 200 unit bill works out at about Rs 44 per unit.

How much is a 200 unit IESCO bill?

About Rs 8,786 for an unprotected home with 2 kW load, and about Rs 4,021 for a protected home, with the current adjustments with duty included. The protected figure applies only if every one of your last six bills was 200 units or less.

Do Islamabad homes pay electricity duty?

It depends on your bill. The federal government announced in July 2025 that duty would no longer be collected through bills, but 2026 bills in the region have still shown it. Your own bill is the only reliable guide, so match the duty box to it.

Is the IESCO tariff the same as LESCO?

Yes. Since February 2026 all government distribution companies and K-Electric charge one uniform tariff. The LESCO bill calculator and this one give the same answer for the same inputs.
