Aggregate Calculator

Set your own weights for entry test, Intermediate and Matric and get your merit aggregate, or pick your university for its exact formula.

Set your university's weights. They should add up to 100.

An aggregate is a weighted average. Each part (test, Intermediate, Matric) is turned into a percentage, multiplied by its weight, and the results are added. Enter your marks and your university's weights above, and make sure the weights add up to 100.

If your university is listed below, use its own page instead. Those pages carry the exact split, the right totals (for example FSc Part I out of 550) and any rounding or Hafiz rule.

How a weighted aggregate works

For each part, divide marks obtained by total marks, then multiply by the weight:

Part score = obtained ÷ total × weight

Add the part scores and you have the aggregate out of 100.

Worked example

A university uses 50% test, 40% Intermediate and 10% Matric. A student has 140 out of 200 in the test, 950 out of 1,100 in Intermediate and 1,000 out of 1,100 in Matric.

  1. Test: 140 ÷ 200 × 50 = 35.0000
  2. Intermediate: 950 ÷ 1,100 × 40 = 34.5455
  3. Matric: 1,000 ÷ 1,100 × 10 = 9.0909
  4. Aggregate: 78.6364%

The same student at a university using 75% test and 25% academics would get a very different figure. That is why a single "aggregate" number means little until you know whose formula it is.

Punjab University uses a different shape, with Matric counted at a quarter of its marks. See the PU merit calculator for that.

Common mistakes

Using the wrong Intermediate total

Many universities make merit before the FSc Part II result. UET, UAF, GCU, UVAS and PU use Part I marks, usually out of 550. Entering 1,000 out of 1,100 when the formula wants Part I will give a wrong figure.

Weights that do not add up to 100

If your weights total 90 or 110, the result is not a percentage. The calculator warns you when this happens.

Mixing percentile and percentage

PIEAS uses your test percentile, not your raw score. A percentile of 85 means you did better than 85% of candidates. It is not 85 marks.

Adding a Hafiz bonus where none exists

MBBS and BDS have no Hafiz marks since 2023. Some universities still add 20 marks, but always after an oral test.

Some institutions use their own tests and weights: the IST merit calculator for the Institute of Space Technology, the PUCIT merit calculator for Punjab University's computing college and the IUB merit calculator for Islamia University Bahawalpur.

For engineering and physics at PIEAS, which uses its own test and weights, see the PIEAS merit calculator.

This tool estimates your aggregate from the formula a university publishes. It is not affiliated with any university or with PMDC or HEC. Your admission office's merit list is the final word, and we do not publish closing merits.

Aggregate questions

What is the formula for aggregate?

Aggregate = sum of (marks obtained ÷ total marks × weight) for each part. With 50% test, 40% Intermediate and 10% Matric, a student with 140/200, 950/1,100 and 1,000/1,100 gets 35 + 34.5455 + 9.0909 = 78.6364%. The weights change by university, so check the one you are applying to.

Should I use FSc Part I or full FSc marks?

Use whatever your university's formula names. UET Lahore, UAF, GCU, UVAS and Punjab University use Part I (first year) marks because merit lists come out before Part II results. MDCAT, NUMS, FAST and COMSATS use full HSSC marks, though FAST accepts Part I if Part II is not out.

Why is my aggregate different on another website?

Usually the other site uses a different total (1,100 instead of 550 for Part I), an old weight split, or rounds differently. UVAS cuts to four decimals without rounding, and KMU rounds to five. Each university page here uses the totals and rounding the university states.

Do weights have to add up to 100?

Yes, if you want a percentage. A university that uses 50/40/10 has weights totalling 100, so a perfect score gives 100%. If your weights add to something else, the result will be on a different scale and cannot be compared with a merit list.

Does the calculator tell me if I will get admission?

No. It gives your aggregate only. Admission depends on the number of seats, quota, domicile and how many candidates score above you that year. Compare your figure with the merit lists your university publishes, and apply to more than one programme if you are close.
