UAF entry test 90 / 100 × 40%36.0000

UAF weights Matric, Intermediate Part I and its entry test at 30 : 30 : 40. So Matric 1,000/1,100, Part I 450/550 and 60% in the test gives an aggregate of 75.8182%.

Matric carries more weight at UAF than at most universities. At NUST it is 10%, and in the MDCAT formula also 10%. A strong Matric result helps a lot here, but the test is still the largest single part.

The UAF formula

Aggregate = (Matric ÷ total × 30) + (Inter Part I ÷ total × 30) + (entry test ÷ total × 40)

Worked example

Matric 1,000 out of 1,100, Inter Part I 450 out of 550, entry test 60 out of 100.

  1. Matric: 1,000 ÷ 1,100 × 30 = 27.2727
  2. Part I: 450 ÷ 550 × 30 = 24.5455
  3. Entry test: 60 ÷ 100 × 40 = 24.0000
  4. Aggregate: 75.8182%

A second example

Matric 900, Part I 400 and 72% in the test: 24.5455 + 21.8182 + 28.8000 = 75.1636%. A good test can make up for weaker school marks.

Because Matric and Part I have equal weight, one Part I mark (out of 550) is worth twice a Matric mark (out of 1,100).

How the entry test moves your aggregate

With Matric 1,000 out of 1,100 and Part I 450 out of 550, each test percentage point adds 0.4:

Entry test (%) UAF aggregate
40 67.8182%
50 71.8182%
60 75.8182%
70 79.8182%
80 83.8182%

To find the test score you need, type a target in the calculator's optional box. With these school marks, an aggregate of 80 needs 71% in the entry test.

The calculator sets the test total to 100, so you can type your score as a percentage. If your result card shows marks out of another total, type that total in the "Out of" box. The weight stays 40%.

About the UAF entry test

UAF's 2026-27 terms say the entry test follows the Intermediate syllabus, Part I and Part II in a 50:50 ratio. You choose the test stream that matches your FSc group when you register, and it cannot be changed afterwards. Tests are held at the main campus, the constituent colleges and other centres in Punjab.

The test registration and the online admission form are separate steps. Keep the username and password you create at registration, as UAF uses them for all later contact, and deposit the bank fee by the deadline.

Minimum marks and provisional admission

Admission is provisional until your final Intermediate result is declared. If that result falls below the minimum for your programme, UAF can cancel the admission.

Minimums are set per programme. For example, UAF's BS Forestry merit notice of 15 September 2026 asked for at least 45% in Intermediate, 495 out of 1,100 or 540 out of 1,200, not counting Hafiz-e-Quran marks. If you are selected at a different campus from the one you first joined, you have to complete the admission and pay the dues there afresh.

Hafiz-e-Quran. UAF gives Hafiz-e-Quran candidates 20 extra marks, which do not count towards minimum eligibility. This calculator shows your aggregate without them; UAF adds them to the merit of those who qualify.

UAF compared with other Punjab universities

University Matric Inter Part I Test
UAF 30% 30% 40%
UVAS 30% 70% none
GCU Lahore BS 20% 80% none
UET Lahore 17% 50% 33%

UAF is the only one of these where the test is the largest single part and Matric still counts for almost a third. Once you are enrolled, the UAF GPA calculator works out semester GPA and CGPA on UAF's own grading system.

UAF aggregate questions

How is the UAF aggregate calculated?

UAF uses Matric 30%, Intermediate Part I 30% and its entry test 40%. With Matric 1,000/1,100, Part I 450/550 and 60/100 in the test, the aggregate is 27.2727 + 24.5455 + 24 = 75.8182%. This is from UAF's 2026-27 admission terms.

Does UAF use full FSc or Part I?

UAF names Intermediate Part I, at 30% of merit. Enter your first-year marks and set the total to match your board, usually 550. Because Part I and Matric carry equal weight, one Part I mark is worth twice a Matric mark out of 1,100.

What does the UAF entry test cover?

The Intermediate syllabus, Part I and Part II in equal measure, in the stream that matches your FSc group. You pick the stream when you register and cannot change it later. Enter your score as a percentage, or as marks with the total from your result card.

How many marks do Hafiz-e-Quran candidates get at UAF?

Twenty extra marks. They do not count towards the minimum eligibility marks. This calculator leaves them out, so a Hafiz candidate's merit on UAF's list will be higher than the figure shown here.

Is UAF admission final when the merit list comes out?

No. It is provisional until the final Intermediate result. If the result is below the programme minimum, such as 45% for BS Forestry in 2026, UAF can cancel the admission.
