Choose the storage size of your iPhone 16 Pro Max, then passport or CNIC. PTA tax on a new iPhone 16 Pro Max 256GB is about Rs 112,100 on passport and Rs 138,420 on CNIC for a filer. The 512GB model is about Rs 126,505 and Rs 155,706, and the 1TB model about Rs 139,732 and Rs 171,578.
These use FBR Valuation Ruling 1999/2025 of 23 April 2025, which gives a US dollar value for each iPhone 16 variant: US$1,070, US$1,278 and US$1,469. The rupee figures are at Rs 277.01 to the dollar.

At Rs 277.01 per US$ (State Bank of Pakistan rate of 8 October 2026). CNIC figures include 4% additional customs duty.
The last row uses Apple's US$1,199 launch price for comparison. FBR's own ruling value for the 256GB model is lower than the launch price.
How storage changes the bill
All three storage sizes are above US$700, so they pay the same fixed items: Rs 17,600 regulatory duty and Rs 16,000 mobile levy. Only sales tax, and on CNIC the additional customs duty, grow with the value.
- 256GB to 512GB: US$208 more value takes the passport tax from Rs 112,100 to Rs 126,505.
- 512GB to 1TB: US$191 more value takes it to Rs 139,732.
Storage can matter as much as the route. The 1TB model on passport (Rs 139,732) costs more in tax than the 256GB model on CNIC (Rs 138,420).

New or used
Ruling 1999/2025 covers new iPhones. FBR's ruling for used phones, 2070/2026 of 23 April 2026, lists iPhones only up to the 15 series, so there is no used value for the 16 Pro Max. Customs would set a value itself for a used 16 Pro Max.
If your PSID shows a different figure, it may be because FBR used another value or a different exchange rate. Choose "Enter value in US$" in the calculator and try the value you think applies. The iPhone 15 Pro Max page shows how much lower a used-phone value can be.
Registering a new 16 Pro Max
PTA registers a phone by its IMEI, not its storage, so a 256GB and a 1TB set are checked the same way. Text the IMEI from *#06# to 8484, or use PTA's DIRBS app. An unregistered phone gets a PSID in DIRBS with the tax customs has assessed, which can differ from the figures above if customs used another value. The PTA tax calculator has the full route.
