Worked examples

Three children, normal. 3 × Rs 50 = Rs 150. The cheapest document NADRA issues, and the one most families need first.

A child's passport next week. One B-form on executive, Rs 500, then a 5-year e-passport at Rs 9,000 on normal. See the passport fee calculator for other options.

Correcting a date of birth for two children. A modification is charged like a new B-form: Rs 100 on normal or Rs 1,000 on executive.

B-form rules by age

NADRA changed child registration in June 2025. Each child now has a separate application, and the old group form is no longer used.

Age of child What the B-form holds Validity
Under 3 No photograph or fingerprints Ends when the child turns 3
3 to 10 Photograph required; iris scan where the centre has the equipment
10 and over Fingerprints, photograph and iris scan Until 18

So a B-form made for a baby has to be renewed at age 3 with a photograph, and again from 10 with full biometrics. NADRA said the fee did not change with these rules.

How to apply

  1. Register the birth with the union council and get its birth registration certificate. NADRA asks for it before issuing a B-form.
  2. Apply at a NADRA centre or through the Pak-ID app, one application per child. Bring the parents' ID cards.
  3. Take the child along if he or she is 3 or older, for the photograph, and from 10 for fingerprints and an iris scan.
  4. Pay Rs 50 on normal or Rs 500 on executive, and keep the receipt.

When a child needs a B-form

Schools, board exams, passports and many government schemes ask for a B-form. DGIP asks children aged 10 and over for an updated B-form with fingerprints and a photograph before issuing a passport. Children under 10 can use a B-form or an FRC.

At 18 the B-form is replaced by the Smart ID card, which costs Rs 750 on normal. See the NADRA ID card fee page for renewal and urgent options. A child who lives abroad with the family can get a NICOP instead; see the NICOP fee.

Common mistakes

  • No union council certificate. NADRA will not register the child without it. Get it from the union council first.
  • Using a baby's B-form after age 3. It has expired. Apply again with a photograph.
  • Old B-form for a passport at 10 or over. DGIP wants one with fingerprints. Update it before the passport appointment.
  • Names that do not match. Spell the child's and parents' names exactly as on the birth certificate and the parents' ID cards.

B-form questions

What is the B-form fee in NADRA?

Rs 50 for normal service and Rs 500 for executive service. The fee is the same for a new B-form, a correction and a duplicate.

How long does a B-form take?

NADRA's target is about 7 days on normal and 1 day on executive. Delays happen when the birth record or the parents' data do not match.

Can I apply for a B-form online?

Yes, through the Pak-ID app, which charges the same fee. You can also apply at any NADRA registration centre. You still need the union council birth registration certificate.

Does a B-form expire?

A B-form made for a child under 3 ends when the child turns 3. One made from age 10, with fingerprints, photograph and iris scan, is valid until 18, when the child applies for an ID card.

Is there an urgent B-form?

NADRA's fee table lists only normal (Rs 50) and executive (Rs 500). If you need it quickly, choose executive.

Is a B-form the same as a CRC?

Yes. B-form is the everyday name for NADRA's Child Registration Certificate (CRC). It gives the child a 13-digit NADRA number, which is what the FRC and other NADRA records link to. The fee and rules on this page apply to both names.

What documents are needed for a B-form?

The union council birth registration certificate and the parents' ID cards. A child of 3 or older must come for a photograph, and from 10 for fingerprints and an iris scan. If you are correcting a B-form, bring proof of the right detail, such as the birth certificate.

Can I put all my children on one B-form?

No longer. Since June 2025 NADRA registers each child on a separate application instead of the old group form. The fee is charged per child.
