The OET fee is AUD 587 for the full test of four sub-tests, on paper or on computer. OET charges it in Australian dollars, so at Rs 192.34 per Australian dollar it comes to about Rs 112,904, or Rs 113,468 with a filer's card advance tax. OET runs test venues in Pakistan, including Lahore.

Sub-test prices include the AUD 7 online booking fee, which is never refunded.

Rescheduling and cancelling

Fees depend on whether bookings for your original date have closed. OET on Paper closes 24 days before the test; OET on Computer and OET@Home close 7 days before.

Reschedule: AUD 120 before bookings close, AUD 200 after. On paper you can reschedule up to the day before the test. On computer you can reschedule once, up to two days before your first sub-test.
Cancel the full test: AUD 460 back before bookings close, AUD 380 after. Paper tests can be cancelled up to a week before; computer tests up to two days before.
Cancel paper sub-tests before bookings close: AUD 188, 288 or 388 back for one, two or three sub-tests. After bookings close: AUD 108, 208 or 308.

Worked examples

Full test, filer. AUD 587 × Rs 192.34 = Rs 112,904. Advance tax at 0.5% = Rs 565. Total about Rs 113,468.

Writing only, on paper, after a full test. One sub-test is AUD 315, about Rs 60,890 for a filer.

Rescheduled after bookings closed. AUD 587 plus AUD 200 = AUD 787, about Rs 152,128 for a filer.

Cancelled before bookings closed. You paid about Rs 113,468 and get AUD 460 back, about Rs 88,476. The test still cost about Rs 24,992 once the bank's tax is counted.

Non-filer, one sub-test sent for re-marking. AUD 707 in all, about Rs 137,344. The AUD 120 is refunded if the grade changes.

Re-marking and appeals

Re-marking costs AUD 120 per sub-test and takes three to six weeks. If your grade changes, OET refunds the fee; if it does not, the fee is kept. An appeal after re-marking costs AUD 120 for each of its two stages.

Before you pay, compare your sub-test grades with what your regulator asks for. A re-mark that cannot lift you over the line adds cost without changing the outcome.

Paying from Pakistan

OET bills in Australian dollars by card. Your bank converts the amount at its own card rate and deducts section 236Y advance tax: 0.5% for filers and 1% for non-filers. Refunds go back to the same card within 7 to 10 business days, but the bank does not return the advance tax; it is adjustable against your income tax instead.
