Which regulations this is from. The table comes from Version 3.0 of Superior's undergraduate regulations, effective from the Fall 2018 intake, hosted on Superior's student portal. The same table appears in the Student Handbook 2022. Check your result card if your points look different, as newer BS regulations may apply to recent intakes.

What counts in your Superior CGPA

Under the regulations, W (withdrawn), I (incomplete) and R grades are left out of the CGPA. They carry no points and their credit hours are not added. Only graded courses from A to F count. The pass mark for a course is 50%.

Worked example: Superior semester

Course Credit hours Marks Grade Quality points
Course 1 3 90 A 12.00
Course 2 3 81 B+ 9.99
Course 3 3 73 B- 8.01
Course 4 3 65 C 6.00
Course 5 2 50 D 2.00
Total 14 38.00

GPA = 38.00 ÷ 14 = 2.71.

Course 2 at 81 is one mark short of A- (3.67). Course 3 at 73 is one short of B (3.00). If a course was withdrawn, leave it out rather than entering zero. To combine semesters, see the CGPA calculator.

Questions people ask

What is the Superior University CGPA criteria?

A 86 to 100 (4.00), A- 82 to 85 (3.67), B+ 78 to 81 (3.33), B 74 to 77 (3.00), B- 70 to 73 (2.67), C+ 66 to 69 (2.33), C 62 to 65 (2.00), C- 58 to 61 (1.67), D+ 54 to 57 (1.33), D 50 to 53 (1.00), and F below 50.

Do withdrawn courses count in my Superior CGPA?

No. Under Superior's undergraduate regulations, W, I and R grades are excluded from the CGPA. Do not enter them in the calculator. Only enter courses with a letter grade from A to F. Entering a withdrawn course as F would wrongly add its credit hours and pull your GPA down.

Is this table current for Superior students?

It is from Version 3.0 of the undergraduate regulations, effective from the Fall 2018 intake, and the Student Handbook 2022 repeats it. If your result shows different points, use grade points entry instead.

How do I convert my Superior CGPA to a percentage?

Superior's regulations do not set a conversion rule. HEC's equivalence table gives a percentage band for each CGPA band. For 2.71 that is the B band, 71 to 74%. See CGPA to percentage. Use the figure on your transcript if Superior prints one.
